Michael has over 30 years of experience in the employee benefits marketplace. Michael’s key talent is innovative solutions for clients. Michael’s approach is very personal, dedicated, with pristine attention to detail.
Michael started his career working for a financial institution as an Investment Counselor. As he continued to gain success in his career, he founded The DeChristopher Group in 1995. Michael is a Registered Investment Advisor and a Certified Financial Planner. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Michael enjoys sailing, fishing, golfing, traveling, and coaching youth football.

Nikki Petrazzuolo Whitaker, M.A.
Executive Vice President
Nikki has over eight years of experience in Employee Benefits administration and Public Policy. She oversees firm operations as well as educational programs on product and regulatory updates. Her specializations include the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), ERISA, COBRA and alternate funding. Nikki provides high-level consultancy and guidance to clients based on legislative updates, product and marketplace changes, funding arrangements, audit protection and technology solutions. Nikki is a Spanish speaker who directly assists clients with a dual language need. Nikki customizes written communications and conducts Open Enrollment meetings in English and Spanish.
Nikki is a Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist® and a member of SHRM (Society For Human Resource Management) www.shrm.org. She received her Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service and her Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University. Nikki is the Braddock District Representative of the Fairfax County Community Action Advisory Board (CAAB) helping to reduce poverty and homelessness in Northern Virginia. She is also an avid basketball fan, dedicated to her Georgetown Hoyas and New York Knicks. She enjoys spending time with her family (husband, daughter, two step daughters and step son) and practicing Bikram yoga.

Lucia Fan, GBA
Lucia is a Senior Consultant and brings nearly 30 years of experience providing group health, life, dental, tax-favored accounts, voluntary benefits and services to large employers. In addition to being a Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist®, she is also a CEBS candidate, having completed most of her certification requirements. The CEBS program is the premier designation in total compensation and benefits, and is considered the standard of excellence in the industry. Lucia also publishes Benefits Spotlight, a monthly newsletter which highlights compliance, marketplace developments and regulatory changes. Lucia has a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and Business Administration from the University of Maryland. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, painting, interior design and spending time with her family. She is married has four boys.
- Huma Haque
Senior Account Manager
Huma has over six years of HR, payroll, account service management, and benefits administration. Huma provides dedicated service to accounts of multiple sizes, with technical support and administrative management throughout the service year and at renewal time. Huma also has a key role in providing multiple levels of payroll guidance and support for clients and partners.
Huma received her Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Communication from Old Dominion University. Huma enjoys spending time with her Morkie (Yorkie Terrier and Maltese mix), traveling, and supporting the Washington Wizards
- Shannon Joy
Senior Account Manager
Shannon brings over 8 years of industry experience to our team. Her blend of sales, customer service and carrier knowledge will help to support our key accounts. Shannon enjoys assisting large and small business owners in creating employee benefit packages that help them to attract and retain the best talent. She enjoys educating and ensuring that employees understand their benefits all while helping employers to control costs wherever possible. The importance of client compliance is a big focus at TDG. Shannon is diligently mastering what impacts business of all sizes, whether it be ERISA, ACA or State mandated benefits.
Shannon received her Bachelor of Science from Radford University and is currently pursuing her CEBS designation. Shannon is married, has two active teenagers and adores her dog Gibby. When she is not juggling work and family commitments she likes to read, support her local sport teams and dream about retiring.
- Danielle Murray
Danielle has over six years of customer service, HR and benefits administration support, spent predominantly as the HR representative / Project Manager for a variety of Federal Government contracts. She also has experience with different HR Associations, specifically Professional Employment Organizations (PEO). Her role at the DeChristopher Group is crucial to the service of multiple accounts, providing technical support, administrative management throughout the year and renewal time. Danielle also provides payroll support and offers assistance to some of our large employers.
Danielle brings superior customer service as well as an excellent work ethic to the team. Having been a former Division I athlete she is a great team player and very loyal to the mission. Danielle graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Administration. She is a sports fanatic, loves her New York Yankees and is a huge college football fan! She and her lab mix, Bailey, never miss a Hokie football game.
- Sonia Johnson
Sonia has over four years of experience in information administration. She plays a key role in administration of employee transactions, benefit status, claims resolutions and direct HR support for the firm’s accounts. She is a Master’s candidate in the field of Public Health, from Lynchburg College. In her spare time, Sonia enjoys horseback-riding and spending time with family.
